Who are we?

We are a group of Jewish women across ages and stages who are interested in initiating meaningful social entrepreneurship and developing leadership in our communities and beyond.  We are passionate about Jewish tradition and observance.  We come from all over the United States and are deeply connected to the Israeli community.

What motivates us?

We are spurred to action by our sense that the complex social, religious and economic questions the Jewish community faces require thoughtful female voices. We are interested in using and leveraging our resources to engage impactfully in the community.

What do we do?

We expect to invest in creative projects designed to create change in the various contexts of the modern Jewish experience.

When did we launch?

We launched in January 2016, and made our first set of grants in Fall 2016 for the 2016-2017 cycle.  We continue to make grants annually each fall.

What do we fund?

We are interested in entrepreneurial projects that take a problem-solving approach to issues in the areas of Jewish communal life, spiritual leadership, social justice, and education in the United States and Israel, with a particular focus on the advancement of women.

What level of support do we offer?

We award grants of between ten thousand and fifty thousand dollars. Our funders will also offer strategic and organizational support where needed.

How will projects be selected?

Arev reaches out to interesting project to invite them to apply.  Projects are reviewed, evaluated, and selected with full participation of Arev Fund stakeholders.

Do you only fund projects that are for women and by women?

No. While the Arev Fund has a focus on the advancement of women, we fund projects that address any of the areas of interest articulated in our mission statement as articulated in our choice of focus for a particular grant cycle.
